Giorgio Di Giorgio is Professor of Monetary Theory and Policy and Director of the Arcelli Center for Monetary and Financial Studies at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome. In the past, he served as Chairman of the Department of Economics and Finance (2011-2014) and as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management (2007-2011) of the same University. He holds a Laurea in Economics from Sapienza University of Rome and a Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University in the City of New York. His research focuses on monetary policy, financial intermediation, dynamic macroeconomics and banking regulation. Within his extensive publishing activity he had papers appearing on journals such as the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, the Journal of Banking and Finance, International Finance, the Journal of Financial Stability. He is the Editor of Rivista Bancaria – Minerva Bancaria, the oldest Italian academic journal in the field of banking and finance, and a former Editor of the Journal of Banking and Finance. In addition, Prof. Di Giorgio also serves and had served as an independent director in the Board of administration of a number of financial and listed companies.
